This Winchester manufactured late variation receiver is for the field grade model 1897 slide action takedown shotgun in 12 gauge and is in very good condition exhibiting a grayish brown patina with some scattered specks of older rust, possible pin prick pitting and traces of original blue finish in protected areas. The late variation receiver is designed to accept the ejector spring and ejector spring screw which are not found on the early variation receivers. This receiver is the only part on the model 1897 shotgun that is tracked as a firearm therefore it will need to be transferred through a dealer.
